Today while browsing Facebook, I noticed one of my FacebookFriends changed his status to “___ ___ is sick of Obama. Fuck him.”
And I thought back to the Frank Rich editorial I posted here earlier, and I started wondering if, hey, maybe that’s the media’s point. Desperate hope that they can nitpick and overexpose Obama to the point where the more simpleminded voters will just say “I’m sick of that guy. Let’s just vote for McCain or whatever.”
It frightens me how many people put that little thought or effort into such an important decision. That’s the problem with Democracy: It only works if the populace is informed, and the Republicans have been gutting public education for years precisely to keep the non-wealthy ignorant.
